Now open: Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel in Karlstad, Sweden

The new year started off with the opening of the Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel in Karlstad, representing the chain’s 17th property in Sweden.

The Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel is ideally located, just a short walk from the Central station. One of the hotel’s two buildings dates back to the 19th century and its interior design also adapts furnishings and decorations to the same era, while at the same time including latest technology with services such as wireless LAN.

The hotel has 131 rooms, tastefully decorated and equipped to the highest standards. Conference facilities include seven meeting rooms for up to 50 people, while extraordinary events and incentives can be arranged upon request. There are over 40 different activities to choose from, ranging from golf and Go-cart Grand Prix to a hot air balloon ride over the city.

The Bar is the ideal place to meet for cocktails or a beer, and the Brasserie in the light atrium offers a cosmopolitan setting with Mediterranean cuisine. For a more formal dining, the gourmet restaurant Vivaldi serves a superb menu and keeps a well-stocked wine cellar in 19th century vaults. Guests can round off the evening in the hotel’s popular nightclub, the hotspot in Karlstad.

Other facilities include the Plaza Relax and Bocy Care, with numerous treatments and massages available. In addition to the jacuzzi, solarium and steam bath, there is also a dry sauna with a breathtaking view of the city.

Karlstad, a charming city famous for its high standard University with IT focus, is easily accessible by train from both Stockholm and Norway’s capital Oslo, as well as via direct 50 minute flights from Stockholm Arlanda airport. With its 80.000 inhabitants it is the largest city in the county of Värmland, and the majority of the population is young making the city a lively and happening place.
